This is a large-scale project designed for makers with access to a suitably sized FDM printer.
The model features:

Due to the size of the prop, a large print bed is strongly recommended.

Version 3 Update
Improved Weight Distribution
The latest Version 3 has been redesigned with the battery compartment relocated to the base of the staff.
This change was made to:
- Improve balance
- Reduce stress on the upper section
- Minimise the risk of damage caused by the weight of the battery
Please Note: Because the battery is now housed in the base, you'll need to feed the LED wiring through the full length of the staff during assembly. It's a little more time-consuming, but results in a much stronger and better-balanced finished prop.
While I haven't yet had the opportunity to print Version 3 myself due to moving house, several members of the community are currently building it. If you encounter any issues or have questions, I'm always happy to help.
Print Recommendations
Recommended Material
PETG is strongly recommended.
Compared to PLA, PETG offers:
- Greater durability
- Better impact resistance
- Easier sanding and finishing
- Lower risk of snapping during use
PLA can be used, but because of the size of the glaive, it is significantly more prone to breaking.
Reinforcement
For maximum strength, the model has been designed to accommodate:
- 2 × M8 threaded rods (615mm)
- 1 × M6 threaded rod (400mm)
These provide excellent rigidity throughout the completed build.
Printer Requirements
Because of the overall size of the glaive, a printer with a large build volume is highly recommended.
Older Versions
Only the latest Version 3 files are included with this download.
Older versions have been removed to avoid confusion.
If you specifically require a previous version, simply get in touch and I'll be happy to provide it.
Kids Version
A kids-sized version is also available upon request.
Although it is no longer officially included because it isn't fully supported, I'm happy to send you a copy if you'd like to experiment with it.
